Dr. George Walker completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University before advancing his education at the University of Illinois. There, he went on to earn his D.D.S. degree along with his M.S. degree and certificate in orthodontics. In practice for 20 years, Dr. Walker has completed treatment for approximately 3,000 patients and now operates two locations in the Freeport and Monroe communities.

In addition to giving public presentations on orthodontics and dentistry, Dr. Walker stays current on the latest advances in the dental field through memberships in the following professional organizations:
  • US Grant Dental Society
  • Illinois State Dental Society
  • American Dental Association
  • Illinois Society of Orthodontists
  • Midwest Society of Orthodontists
  • American Association of Orthodontists

Dr. Walker's commitment to his community is just as strong as his commitment to his profession. Actively involved with the Freeport Rotary Club, Boy Scouts of America, Freeport American Red Cross and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he served as the Bishop of a local church congregation for five years. He also worked as a volunteer missionary in South Africa for two years, where he learned to speak Africaans.

Dr. Walker and his wife of 28 years, Kimella, have seven children. In his spare time, he enjoys computers, gardening and singing in a small men's group, which he has been a part of for 20 years.

This winter and spring Dr. Walker spent several days doing volunteer teaching in orthodontics at UIC dental school. He plans to continue supporting the UIC orthodontic program in the future and is interested in doing part-time teaching.
