Children & Teen Orthodontics
While orthodontic treatment begins between the ages of 10 & 14, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic evaluation no later than age 7. By this time, your child's teeth have developed enough to where subtle problems can be spotted with jaw growth and emerging teeth. Some orthodontic problems are easier to correct if they're treated early. Dr. Walker will advise you as to the idea time to being treatment.
Adults often quesion if they are candidates for orthodontic treatment. The answer is a definite YES! It is never too late to address concerns with misaligned teeth. With straight teeth, the results include healthier teeth and the reduced chances of gum loss and decay. Also, when the jaw is misaligned, teeth do not align properly and can result in advanced wear of the tooth surfaces eventually leading to the possible need for dentures.
Now that you are wearing braces, many questions can arise during treatment. Questions include: how do you take care of them? What foods can't I eat with braces? How much extra time will I need to take care of my braces? Following directions will help treatment stay on schedule and will help you end with a desired result!
Dr. Walker stays on top of the latest technology and techniques to better serve his patients. Using a soft tissue laser for orthodontics can help remove and reshape gum tissue with reduced side effects compared to conventional surgical methods. Two procedures we perform in office are a frenectomy and gingival recontouring.
Our goal at Dr. Walker Orthodontics is to help you achieve a healthy and beautiful smile you can enjoy for a lifetime! Dr. Walker has transformed over 4,500 smiles for his patients.

Retainers & Aligners
90% of our patients are able to hold their tooth alignment well with 8 hours of retainer wear (usually while sleeping) every day. This is a proven strategy that has worked for nearly 5000 patients that Dr. Walker has treated over 35 years. Teeth have a natural tendency to move back towards the way they were before treatment.
